Art and Consumerism

In contemporary culture, there are products and services that are unnecessary but have become important because of the demands of neoliberal society. In our society, freedom has been transformed into free trade, we live in a society where shopping even have become in a duty and an obligation.
This is an art project which combines electronic media with traditional media in order to protest against the entrenched cultural values, against consumerism, against overproduction and against capitalist economic system.
With this project, Mauricio Carlos aims to generate some thoughts about our priorities, about what our needs really are. His work tries to suggest some alternatives of interchange in and outside the globalized artistic market.
